The 2007 calendar of events of Society activities - feel free to join us at any of these events - you will be sure of a warm welcome

All Talks are held at the Small Hall, Croydon United Reformed Church, Addiscombe Grove, Croydon at 7.45 PM.

Saturday 21st April
11am. WALK. around Carshalton. See the town ponds, ecology centre
Honeywood Lodge and The Grove. Waterfalls, Waterwheel, Butter Hill, the
station etc.
Meet Fox and Hounds, Carshalon High Street. 157 bus from West Croydon /
Selhurst / South Norwood

Tuesday 1st May
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.

19:45. Small Hall, United Reformed Church, Addiscombe Grove. Followed by
Talk by local historian and first Chairman of The Croydon Society: John
Gent.

** Please make a special effort to attend as the future of the society
will be under consideration

Saturday 12th May
11am. WALK. Old Eltham. Visiting King John's Walk and Eltham Palace
(English Heritage: admission £4.80, concessions £3.60) Meet Court
Road, Eltham High Street end. 314 bus from Addington bus interchange
(Addington Village tram stop)

Monday 14th May
19:45 ILLUSTRATED TALK. Primary Room, United Reformed Church, Addiscombe
Grove. The Local List of Buildings of Architectural and Historic
Importance. Speaker: Claire Hamilton, Urban Designer, Croydon Council.
NB Please note DAY AND VENUE

Monday 2nd July
SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING.
18:45. Primary Room, United Reformed Church, Addiscombe Grove. This
meeting is required by the Society's Constitution if the closure motion
is carried at the AGM on 1st May.

Health Walks.

A regular programme of walks arranged by the Croydon Council as part of
the Active Lifestyles Programme.

Walks are 2-3 miles and take about 1 hour.

Mondays
11 am Lloyd Park Tram Stop. (suitable for beginners)
1 pm Lloyd Park Tram Stop (for more advanced walkers)

Tuesdays
11 am Good Companions PH, Hamsey Green. (a circular walk over
Riddlesdown or Kings Wood)

Wednesdays
11am South Norwood Pool (A level walk round South Norwood Country Park.
Suitable for beginners)
11.00 am Farthing Downs and Happy Valley. Meet at Car Park behind the
Fox PH. Old Coulsdon. (Bus 466 to The Fox)

Thursdays
10.30 Gravel Hill Tram Stop (A walk round Heathfield or Addington Village)
1.30 Norbury Train Station (Norbury Park and Norwood Grove)

Fridays
1.30 pm Selsdon Wood Car Park (A circular walk through the Nature Reserve)
